‘Iran is da bomb’: Vandals target historic Melbourne synagogue

A iconic Melbourne religious institution was destroyed twice a day.
The Melbourne Hebrew Community Synagogue listed with inheritance was targeted by Vandals on Sunday.
A piece of graffiti read in the mushroom cloud, as well as another piece of vandalism, which says “Iran Is Da Bomb” and “Free Palestine”.
“A wall of the Toorak Road building is believed to be graffied by an unknown person in the afternoon of Sunday,” a police spokesman said a police spokesman.
“This has been removed, but unknown criminals once Graffited the building on Sunday evening.”
The original Graffitied message said, “Free Palestine.”
“There is absolutely no place in our society for anti -Jewish or hate -based symbols and behaviors in our society.
The police want everyone with knowledge to come to the fore.
Rabbi Shlomo Nathanson told Herald Sun: ık We are disappointed and exhausted by all of this, and we hope that it will be shared by members other than the Jewish community ”.
“We think that this is an attack on the Melbourne Hebrew community and it is unacceptable.
“This is a crime for the Jewish community, although people, people ‘not in Australia, not in my watch’ do not say our hope,” he said.

He described the premier graphite as “shame” and “meaningless”.

Melbourne is a monumental temple about 2 km south of the CBD in the high traffic corner of the Hebrew Community, Toorak Road and St Kilda Road.
The building was built between 1928 and 1930. The synagogue is on the inheritance list for its historical, aesthetics and social importance.
The graffiti referring to Iran was written about 12 hours after bombing the Iranian facilities, which was suspected of being used to enrich the Uranium and develop nuclear weapons.
