Iran knows what the world has ignored for so long about Trump – That makes him dangerous | World | News

Embers (Image:-)
Iran has just realized that the Emperor has no clothes, and Donald Trump’s latest appearance on Truth Social shows that he is starting to realize the game is over.
The peace president, elected on the ‘no foreign wars’ ticket, faces an impossible choice: commit ground forces and clear the log to attend dozens of more dignified transfer ceremonies, or concede defeat and return to the American public with his tail between his legs amid sky-high gas prices.
The US President set a deadline of 20:00 Washington DC time (1:00 our time) on Tuesday for Tehran to “make a deal” acceptable to Trump; but there appears to be little incentive for Iran to do so.
As a self-confessed news junkie and follower of American politics, few things shock me these days. Donald TrumpBut his Easter post telling Iran to “open the Strait of Hormuz” or face “hell” stopped me in my tracks, like threatening to destroy an entire civilization.
Where are we beyond the bravado and the bluster?

Ground forces?
The possibility of Trump ordering ground forces to land amphibiously on Kharg Island cannot be ruled out.
Given that no one expects a raid to kidnap another country’s leader, you can leave almost no options off the table when discussing U.S. military strategy, even bad ones.
50,000 troops were deployed to the Middle East, including elements of the 82nd Airborne and the U.S. Marine Corps, the forces most capable of landing and holding vital territory.
The island has been hit more than 50 times in the last 24 hours; This is a possible indication that defensive positions were softened before the attack.
On the other hand, attacking the island may be the ultimate negotiating tactic; It may be a desperate attempt to convince the Iranians that they are ready to attack; but all parties know that landing amphibians on a heavily defended island is not an attractive proposition.
Iran has been preparing for war against America for 47 years. For decades, military exercises have been structured around rehearsing the defense of essential infrastructure.
The defense positions on the island will be prepared to provide maximum advantage to the defense force with interlocking fire arcs, concrete shelters and tunnels. Amphibious operations against a well-prepared opponent are among the most complex and costly military endeavors.
The cost of lives lost will be huge, and it is unlikely to be a price even Donald J Trump can afford.

War Crimes
Donald Trump has once again threatened to target Iran’s critical infrastructure; This threat, if carried out, would likely constitute a war crime.
Of course, he has threatened to back down before in traditional Trump fashion, but we may come to a point where he has no choice but to follow through.
It is worth noting that the bombing of infrastructures such as bridges does not constitute a war crime in itself.
Bridges are known as “key terrain” in military planning cycles: pieces of infrastructure that are vital for transporting troops and equipment to and from combat and can therefore constitute a legitimate military target.
But Trump didn’t just threaten to bomb infrastructure of military value; threatened to bomb All Infrastructure and language are important.
“There are a lot of former military lawyers and legal experts who are very hesitant to say that bombing civilian infrastructure is a war crime because there are situations where you can do that,” Margaret Donovan, a former attorney with the US Army’s JAG Corps, told CNN.
“But the President’s rhetoric this weekend has changed our view on this issue for me, and I think for many others.
“We’re basically seeing a direct threat to something that we know will be catastrophic for civilians.”
Depriving Iranians of energy, electricity, clean water, and the infrastructure that provides a semblance of normal life in the midst of conflict not only constitutes a war crime, it is completely self-defeating.
This makes hard-liners more radical and only serves to turn opposition critics, who just a few months ago were protesting with American flags, against the West.
Syria and Libya are two recent examples of the limits of military power delivered solely by air. It is effective in achieving a limited number of goals in the short term. But it rarely does the good guys much in the long run. It often strengthens the radical elements that the attackers claim to be fighting.

Trump’s Presidency
Modern history is filled with examples of military and civilian actions that signal the beginning of the end of the presidency.
The disaster at Suez marked the end of Britain as a global power.
The ill-fated military operation to rescue 66 American hostages held in Tehran, which resulted in eight US soldiers dead and no hostages rescued, became the defining event of Jimmy Carter’s presidency and laid the groundwork for Ronald Reagan’s takeover in the 1980 presidential election.
George W. Bush’s disastrous response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 marked the virtual end of the lame duck’s presidency.
Iran may ultimately prove to be the same for Trump.
The truth is that, for all his strong predictions, Donald Trump is poised to be a lame president who oversees the exact opposite of how he ran his campaign, with approval ratings in the toilet and midterm decimation on the horizon.
He is in a weak position. Iran knows this, and it knows it is in a powerful position given its iron grip on global oil supplies. With this in mind, is it any surprise that they have refused to yield in a way that has been typical of European leaders since January 2025?
Iran is preparing to point out that the Emperor has no clothes, Europe, determined to come to the aid of the USA, is beginning to realize the same, and this makes Trump dangerous.
A violent escalation will do the United States little good, but a wounded animal attacks more often when cornered.
