Hollyoaks star Trevor A Toussaint has died aged 65, his representatives have confirmed.

The actor was famous for his long-running role as Walter Deveraux in the Channel 4 series from 2018 to 2022.

In the statement made on Instagram, the following statements were made: ‘We are deeply saddened to officially announce the death of Trevor A Toussaint.

‘The family would like to thank you for your good wishes and support as they take this time to privately come to terms with their great loss of an enigmatic, loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend.’

The touching messages were led by Loose Women star Kellé Bryan, who plays Trevor’s on-screen daughter Martine Deveraux.

He wrote: ‘I’m struggling to find the words to express my tribute to this man @trevoratoussaint. He’s gone but he left such a mark on my heart.

‘I had the privilege of representing him as his manager for over 20 years. He played @jacqui_boats and my father on @hollyoaksofficial, who had a dream to be part of the legacy of the first black family on the show.

‘Trevor started acting in the 70s, when black actors were predominantly cast as criminals.

‘While fighting all kinds of stereotypes for over 10 years, she proudly wore dresses that reached her waist.

‘He once flatly said no when asked to cut them for a lucrative role. It broke many boundaries and paved the way for others. RIP TT.’
