india new zealand fta live: India-New Zealand sign free trade agreement| commerce minister piyush goyal and todd mcclay | live – The Economic Times Video

On the eve of the signing of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Piyush Goyal and Todd McClay spearheaded an industry engagement program in Agra, bringing together stakeholders from the leather, pharma, medical devices, AYUSH, engineering and MSME sectors. It was emphasized that the FTA is a comprehensive partnership that goes beyond tariff reductions to include investment, mobility, education and people-to-people ties. Agra’s leather industry, which accounts for about 75% of India’s footwear production, is expected to benefit significantly as customs duties on exports to New Zealand fall to zero. Industry leaders predict growth will reach US$50 billion by 2030, driven by the shift to high-value manufacturing and global sourcing opportunities. Cooperation between New Zealand’s raw material base and India’s production power has been identified as a significant advantage.
