Iran still has an off-ramp for diplomacy, says David Lammy

Foreign Minister David Lammy urged Iran to take “out of the ramp” and return to the negotiation table.

Iran promised to have “endless results” that aims to issue the country’s nuclear program after US strikes at the weekend.

Lammy said Iran said that it would be a “catastrophe error” to retaliate by shooting US bases. Hormuz Strait’s key shipping lane.

Lammy, speaking to the BBC Radio 4’s Today program, told the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs to receive a message to the Iranian leadership “to be serious about nuclear programs”.

“They have to become serious about the ramp which is made available for them.

“There is still a ramp and I was discussing it again on the phone yesterday with the Iranian Foreign Minister.

“In addition to all our partners in the G7, we call on the Iranians to be serious with both the US, Germany and France, as well as throughout the European and Arab world and Levant.”

On Sunday, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer emphasized that England is not included in the US strikes in three nuclear facilities in Iran – Natanz, Isfahan and Fordo on Saturday night.

He also warned about the risk of climbingAnd he told people that he wanted to assure people about “We are doing everything we can to stabilize the situation.”

Sir Keir added that he wanted to protect people in the UK from more energy price increases on Monday.

“Let me secure everyone watching: We are definitely focusing on the increase in the Middle East,” he said: “The reason for this is the concern of rising to the region and beyond, and the impact on our economy.”

While Washington moved alone to order and execute strikes, the Prime Minister did not have to decide on the participation of the UK.

However, depending on how and when Iran selected retaliation, some relevant changes may soon return to the government.

Ministers made it clear that they did not want a nuclear armed Iran; However, he does not say that Washington’s trying to remove this result by bombing Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

Lammy, who was suppressed as to whether the US strikes are legal, replied, “I am not saying that it is not legitimate,” he said, and clearly, Britain’s invasion of Ukraine was illegal, “there is no moral equivalence.”

However, he acknowledged that diplomatic efforts did not stop the enrichment of the Iranians of the Iranians, so he was “clearly used”.

The Foreign Minister said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) “confirms 60% enrichment” and the Iranians are still “surprised and deception.”

Lammy said that if Iran bought nuclear weapons, “there will be nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, the world will be seriously dangerous and therefore should be stopped.”

He said: “Yes, they may have a civilian nuclear capacity of foreign, which is properly monitored, but they cannot continue to rich to 60% … Why do they need to enrich 60% even if not for nuclear weapons?”

However, the Foreign Minister said that the only solution to dealing with the Iranian nuclear program is “ultimately” through diplomacy, “the expertise still exists in the country, it is likely that some materials still exist in the country.”

IAEA, UN’s nuclear keeper, Held an emergency meeting on MondayDirector Rafael Grossi allow Iran’s agency inspectors to access highly enriched uranium stocks, including “400 kilograms enriched to 60%”.

Shadow Defense Secretary James Cartlidge said that conservatives support the US military operation.

“The key message is to support Israel and the United States,” BBC said to BBC Breakfast. He said.

He said: “First of all, we think that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapons.”

When asked if the UK would be involved in the conflict, it was “too early to speculate”, but the British Defense Secretary John Healey’s planes and military assets meet the decision to move to the Middle East and made them “responds if necessary”.

Liberal Democrats leader Sir Ed Davey accused the ministers of “escape”.

He said: “The strikes of Trump to Iran were a seismic moment that had a deep impact on global security for many years.

“However, British ministers are running away from the question that the ministers of British are not able to support these strikes and that we cannot guarantee that we will not be dragged into another illegal American war in the Middle East.”

Lammy is expected to make a statement in the House of Commons later.
