Iran strikes CIA base in Saudi Arabia in huge symbolic victory as spy agency arms Islamic militants to spark uprising

Iran blew up a CIA station at the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, which was trying to arm militants for an uprising against the Islamist regime.

A suspected Iranian drone struck a CIA station on Monday, just two days after the spy agency pinpointed its location in the attack that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to the Washington Post, an internal State Department alert revealed that the attack in Tehran had ‘collapsed’ part of the station’s roof and ‘contaminated’ the compound with smoke.

The station also sustained ‘structural damage’ and staff were advised to ‘shelter in place’.

It is not yet known whether any CIA agents or personnel were injured in the attack.

The CIA has long been viewed as an archenemy by the Islamic regime, in part because of its history of covert efforts aimed at undermining the organization’s leadership.

Tehran’s attack also comes as the spy agency is trying to arm Kurdish militants inside the country in a bid to foment an uprising following the Ayatollah’s death.

The Daily Mail has contacted the CIA for comment.

Senior White House officials are in active discussions with Kurdish leaders in Iraq about providing them with military support to attack the regime.

Iranian Kurdish militants have thousands of soldiers on the Iraq-Iran border and receive major support from the Kurdistan region of Northern Iraq. Since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in 2003, this semi-autonomous region has served as a safe haven for local Kurdish groups that pose a military threat to the Iranian regime.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has targeted these groups with dozens of drone strikes since the war began on Saturday.

Donald Trump reportedly met on Tuesday with the head of the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party, one of the main Kurdish opposition groups targeted by Tehran’s military.

The Sunni Muslim group is waging a guerrilla war against the Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guard.

‘Operation Epic Rage’ eliminated most of Iran’s top leaders over the weekend as part of a joint US-Israeli military operation aimed at cripple the regime after Trump’s diplomatic talks collapsed last week.

Despite the Ayatollah’s death, the Islamic government appears to remain in control of the country. The CIA’s reported efforts to arm Kurdish militants could pose one of the most existential threats to the regime.

Trump’s war has spiraled in the Middle East, with Israeli cities and several Gulf allies coming under Iranian drone and missile attacks.

The United States responded with a wave of airstrikes aimed at paralyzing Iran’s military bases and remaining leadership.

American embassies in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE were hit by drones. In response, the State Department ordered non-emergency personnel to leave the country.

Following the launch of ‘Operation Epic Rage’, a total of six American soldiers died and nearly two dozen remained hospitalized due to injuries.
