Iran trolls Trump by telling US troops to ‘come closer’ | US | News

Iran has issued a defiant two-word challenge to US forces following the Pentagon’s promise to deploy 3,000 troops to the Middle East.
Admiral Ahmadian, a senior military figure who serves as a spokesman for Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, announced that Iran has spent “more than twenty years” preparing for asymmetric warfare against the technologically superior US military. Admiral Ahmadian, who represents the Supreme Leader on the Iranian Defense Council, said Iran “has only one message to American soldiers: Come closer.”
This development comes as the Pentagon is expected to confirm the deployment of a 3,000-strong brigade combat team to support US and Israeli operations against Iran.
The U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division functions as a rapid-deployment force, capable of mobilization within 18 hours, with a full brigade ready within 72 hours. Details regarding the timing of the deployment and the exact objectives of the mission remain unclear.
Ahmadian said: “We have been waiting for the Americans to enter designated points for years, and we have been training with an asymmetric warfare strategy for this exact moment for more than 20 years.”
This ominous message shows Tehran is ready to confront US military personnel Donald Trump Opt for deploying ground forces to Iran.
On March 13, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved a request from U.S. Central Command to deploy an amphibious ready group element alongside an attached Marine expeditionary unit, which typically consists of multiple warships and about 5,000 Marines and sailors, according to three U.S. officials.
NBC reported that approximately 2,500 additional sailors and 2,500 sailors will be deployed to the Middle East. Naval personnel are assigned to the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, consisting of USS San Diego, USS Tripoli, and USS New Orleans.
This significant troop increase represents a dramatic escalation of the conflict and increases the likelihood of American military personnel entering Iran.
U.S. Central Command announced Tuesday that American aircraft and missile operations “destroyed more than 9,000 military targets” in Iran, but that Iran continued drone and ballistic missile attacks against Israel and neighboring countries throughout the week.
