Speaking from Australia on Thursday, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney refused to rule out military intervention.
Carney said Canada would not participate in U.S. military action, but when asked if he would rule it out even if the conflict were to spread, Carney said anything was possible.
‘You asked for a basic assumption about a conflict that could spread very widely,’ he said.
‘Today’s events or recent events point to this, so we can never categorically exclude participation. ‘We will stand by our allies.’
