Iran war news: Trump says America is ‘respected’ as CENTCOM, US military release battle data

A week after the start of the US-Israeli war against Iran, Donald Trump said America was now “respected” more than ever before, as he released stunning figures on the scale of the attacks.

Mr Trump appeared at a Saving College Sports roundtable discussion in Washington and gave a graphic update on the causes and progress of the US attack on the Middle East regime.

Asked about his opinion of the conflict a week later, Trump said, “If I were giving a score, I’d give it 12 to 15 (out of 10).”

“Their army is gone, their navy is gone, their leaders are gone, two faction leaders are gone. Their air force is completely destroyed.

“Come to think of it, they have 32 ships and 32 of them are at the bottom of the ocean. Other than that, they’re doing very well…

Mr. Trump said the size of the war zone and U.S. efforts to coordinate attacks against multiple countries were a credit to the U.S. military.

“Our military is performing phenomenally; that’s the big thing this week. It seems like there’s something new every week,” Mr. Trump said.

“The situation was very bad and a group of very sick leaders were killing a lot of people. A lot of our people were being killed, maimed, destroyed everywhere by bombs placed on the roads.

“The faces of the bombs placed on the side of the road were detonated as they walked around without legs or arms.

“We had a choice, we could accept it and let it go on for years or we could do something about it and do something about it.

“I think we’re a more respected country now than we’ve ever been before,” Mr. Trump added.

US Central Command also gave an update a week after the conflict and published figures showing the extent of efforts against Iran, with “more than 3,000 targets stuck.”

The statement says “Operation Epic Fury upon the instructions of the President of the United States”.

“CENTCOM forces are striking targets to disrupt the Iranian regime’s security apparatus, prioritizing areas that pose an imminent threat.

“Operation Started in Iran at 01.15 on February 28, 2026. Iranian Ship Damaged or Destroyed: 43.”
