Iran’s president says immediate cessation of US-Israeli aggression needed to end war

March 21 (Reuters) – What Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian described as U.S.-Israeli aggression must be “immediately stopped” to end the war and broader regional conflict, the Iranian embassy in India said on broadcast X on Saturday.
Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day.
Pezeshkian told Modi that there must be guarantees to prevent such “aggression” from recurring in the future. He also called on the BRICS bloc of leading emerging economies to play an independent role in stopping aggression against Iran.

In a separate post published on X earlier on Saturday, Modi said he condemned attacks on critical infrastructure in the Middle East in his meeting with Pezeshkian.
The Indian Prime Minister also reiterated the importance of protecting freedom of navigation and ensuring shipping lanes remain open and safe.
