IRGC Confirms Commander Ali Shadmani Killed in Israeli Airstrike, Vows ‘Harsh Revenge’ | World News

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that Commander General Ali Shadmani died of injuries in an Israeli air strike last week.
According to Iranian media reports, IRGC promised to take “harsh revenge” for the murder of Shadmani.
Shadmani, the key assistant of the Supreme Leading Ayatullah Ali Khanenei, commanded only four days after his predecessor Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid died in another Israeli attack.
On June 17, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Iran’s Senior Military Commander Major General Ali Shadmani killed him in a night air strike in Tehran.
IDF said that the air strike was carried out after taking advantage of a “definite intelligence” and taking advantage of a “sudden opportunity” to target the personnel command center in Tehran.
According to IDF, Shadmani was commanding the IRGC and Iran armed forces. Shadmani commanded the center of Khatam Al-Anbiya, the Crisis Command Center, to address Iran’s war operations and to approve of attack plans against Israel.
Shadmani has previously served as the Deputy Commander of the Khatam Al-Anbiya Headquarters and the President of the Iranian General Staff.
