Car makers likely to see pent-up demand over next two months on tax rationalisation: Stellantis official

Mumbai, September 5 (PTI) car manufacturers are expected to see a suppressed demand in the next two months, and industry can perform better than this financial year due to the rationalization of the GST ratio that will make small cars cheaper than this, Stellantis India Business Chairman and automotive brand director said on Friday.

He also said that building local R -GE, production, supply chain and localized products helps the group’s Citroen brand to keep vehicle prices accessible to customers.

Previously, Citroen India announced the first output of Basalt X Range with its brand new interiors, with the initial price of India’s first smart car friend Cara. La7.95 Lakh.

“So, we’ll see a suppressed demand for the next two months, but I will see it will continue.

Kumar told PTI, “November-December-December period and the next quarter, with all these things (festival season and GST 2.0) will be better than the previous one.

Thus, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi, then Navratra and Diwali, which started with the passenger car segment, the festival season will probably go to the top at the end of October, he added.

“This is the time when people really get the next bet to go to the next level, and this is definitely the right time for passenger cars to enter customers’ homes and get a new identity.

“I can say that someone has a festival season and the second is government actions in GST.” He said.

“The decision about the GST is very good for consumers. It will increase the demand because we did not look at the growth in the last few months, this will be the fuel supply of growth. In addition, people become more accessible and affordable to have a passenger car.”

Basalt said that the output of X Range was a bold leap in the company’s Citroen 2.0.

“With Basalt X, we bring premium interiors and features that transform the daily driver into a special thing. These launches supported by our rapidly growing network indicate a strong routing for Citroen in India.”
