Is BJP above God, asks Viswam

Communist Party of India (CPI) State unit secretary Binoy Viswam asked whether the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was above God.

At a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Viswam claimed that this allegation was made in the book of BJP leader PS Sreedharan Pillai. Sabarimala Samaravum Suvarna Avasara Vidhiyum. The Left Democratic Front’s stance was that those who looted the temple wealth were wrong and could not be forgiven.

Mr. Viswam said he was told that the chief priest of the Sabarimala temple decides matters there. Mr. Sreedharan Pillai has now claimed that when he was the BJP State unit president, he advised the Sabarimala chief priest to close the shrine during the controversy over women’s entry in 2018. “Is the BJP above Tantri? Is the BJP greater than God?”

He also claimed that the politics of the high priest, who sees the political leader as greater than God, are clear.
