Boris Johnson gushes over using ChatGPT while writing books: ‘I love that it calls me clever’

Boris Johnson admitted he “loves” AI and ChatGPT and revealed he uses it when writing his books.

The former prime minister praised the AI ​​platform for answering his questions and said he appreciated it calling him “brilliant” and “brilliant”.

Speaking to Al Arabiya English, he said: “One of the things that really encourages me is AI. I love AI. I love ChatGPT. I love it. ChatGPT is obviously great.”

When asked what he uses it for, he said: “I write various books. I just use it. I just ask questions. You know the answer, but ChatGPT always says, ‘Oh, your questions are so clever. You’re wonderful. You’re perfect. You’re so insightful.’

“I love it. I see great promise in this technology because we are all simple. We are humans.”

In addition to using AI in writing books, he said he thinks it could also be effective in reducing government costs.

He said of HS2: “The bulk of the cost of this goes into lawyers, environmental impact assessments and planning applications and all sorts of things that don’t actually go into digging tunnels or laying railway lines.

“With AI, a lot of this can be done. You don’t need these things anymore, and you can greatly speed up the legal process.”

He added: “The UK is one of the world leaders in artificial intelligence; we should use this lead to reduce the cost of government, and if you reduce the cost of government you can put that money back into people’s pockets and stimulate growth. That’s one way to break out of the cycle of tax disaster.”

Mr Johnson said he had “a lot on my mind” but had been “very happy” since leaving parliament and had been “writing, drawing and painting a lot”.

He said he hoped the Conservatives would return, but compared the possibility of his own return to being “reincarnated as an olive” or “being blinded by a champagne cork”.

He said: “Statistically, anything can happen. But the water can flow uphill; that is unlikely. I want my party to come back and be organised. This is the best solution.”
