Shooting reported amid federal immigration crackdown in Minneapolis | Minneapolis

There was a shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis, where immigration enforcement has been under a major crackdown, authorities said Wednesday.
Live video posted online showed the presence of multiple federal officers, local officers, yellow police tape and crashed vehicles. The group included Commander Gregory Bovino of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“We are aware of a shooting involving federal law enforcement near East 34th Street and Portland Boulevard. Please avoid this area,” he said in City X.
No other details were immediately available. In the footage, bystanders can be seen and heard whistling and taunting federal agents, telling them to go home.
The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday it had launched an extraordinary immigration enforcement operation that expected 2,000 agents and officers in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area in a crackdown linked in part to allegations of fraud involving Somali citizens.
The Immigration Advocacy Network, a coalition of immigrant-serving groups in Minnesota, held a training session Tuesday night for about 100 people willing to take to the streets to monitor federal enforcement.
