Israel and Hamas begin ceasefire talks in Qatar as Netanyahu heads to Washington

Delegations from Israel and Hamas began an indirect cease -fire negotiations in Qatar on his way to Washington to meet with Donald Trump of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu, Monday, his meeting with the US President, Gaza’da more hostage and ceasefire to release an agreement to reach an agreement should help to move forward, he said.

Authorized, under the conditions accepted by Israel to make a ceasefire agreement, he said he gave open instructions to the negotiators.

Hamas said that he responded to the latest ceasefire proposal with a positive spirit, but it seems clear that there are gaps to be bridged if any agreement is accepted between the two sides.

For now, Hamas seems to be still standing for the same conditions that it has previously insisted – including the termination of all hostilities and the withdrawal of Israeli troops at the end of any ceasefire.

Netanyahu’s government has previously rejected it.

The Israeli position may not have changed to a great extent. While leaving Israel for the United States, Netanyahu said that it was still dependent on what he defines as three mission: “The release of all hostages and the return, the living and falling; the destruction of Hamas’s talents – to expel him from there and to make sure that Gaza will no longer be a threat to Israel.”

During the indirect talks between Qatar and Egyptian mediators, Israel and Hamas, they will stop their work while trying to remove other attempts since the end of the previous ceasefire in March.

Since then, Israel has continued its attack against Hamas with great intensity, and imposed a eleven week of blockade that helped to enter Gaza, which was partially removed a few weeks ago.

The Israeli government said that these measures aim to weaken Hamas further and forcing him to negotiate and release hostages.

Only in the last 24 hours, the Israeli army said that he had hit 130 Hamas target and killed a series of militants.

However, the cost of civilian lives in Gaza continues to grow. Hospital officials in Gaza said that more than 30 people were killed on Sunday.

Now the question is that not only whether the talks in Qatar can reach an acceptable compromise for both sides, but also to convince Trump that the war should end at the meetings of Netanyahu on Monday.

Many in Israel already believe that it is a price worth paying to save the remaining hostages.

Once again, they went to the streets on Saturday evening and called on Netanyahu to reach an agreement to finally release hostages.

However, in Netanyahu’s cabinet, there are harsh voices that expressed violent opposition to the end of the war in Gaza before Hamas was completely eliminated, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich.

Once again, a real momentum for the ceasefire agreement emerges, but uncertainty about whether the Israeli government or Hamas is ready to reach an agreement that may be less than the key conditions they have had so far.

And once again, the Palestinians in Gaza and the families of the Israeli hostages still hopes that this will not be any other fake dawn.

The Israeli Army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attacks, where approximately 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were taken hostage.

According to the Ministry of Health, operated by Hamas of the region, at least 57,338 people have been killed in Gaza since then.
