Israel-Premier Tech: ‘Not sustainable’: Pressure from sponsor

One of Cycling’s best teams was called by a title sponsor to change his name after being targeted by pro -cilist protesters during Vuelta A Espaana.
The Israeli-Premier Tech team was at the center of various disruptions in this month’s major round of spain, as protests were held on Israel’s war in Gaza.
Sponsor Premier Tech wants the team to fall from the name, saying ‘Israel’s “current situation is no longer sustainable”.
The Canadian company can end its relationship from next season and issued similar concerns of the British -based bicycle manufacturer factor.
“We will not continue without a change of name, without changing the flag,” Factor’s founder Rob Gitelis Cycling News. He said.
Premier Tech told Radio Canada: “We are sensitive and careful to the situation on the international stage that has developed significantly since we came to the world tour in 2017.
“However, the current situation in the name of the team is no longer sustainable to achieve our goal, which is the reason we put a bike on a bike.”
The Israeli Premier Tech team, who has five British rider, including Tour de France champion Chris Froome, is registered in Israel and Israel-Canada Multiary billionaire Sylvan Adams.
The team said, “Currently they are in planning for the 2026 team brand and they will convey potential changes in a timely manner.”
