Israeli army kills three in southern Gaza Strip tunnel

The Israeli army said its forces found and killed three gunmen while searching for underground infrastructure in the area around Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The army said the search was carried out on Monday and that Israeli troops continued operations to “eliminate terrorists operating in the terrorist infrastructure zone” and eliminate any threats.

The report did not specify which organization these people belonged to.

A fragile ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Palestinian militant organization Hamas has been in place for the past five months, but there are frequent violations for which each side accuses the other of responsibility.
