ISRO Hosts NE Students to Nurture Space Dreams Under Ne-Sparks

Nellore: The scientific curiosity between the young minds coming from the North East has hosted the second and third group groups under the program of the North East students (North East students) program, in cooperation with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the North East Council (NEC) and the relevant state governments.

The Ne-SPARKS program was launched at the 12th meeting of Nesac Association with the directives of the Interior Minister and Nesac Association President Amit Shah. It aims to motivate school students from eight north -east states to the first -hand of India’s latest developments in space technology and to make them career in science and innovation.

100 out of each of the eight north -east state – a total of 800 students will host eight parties at Key Isro Facilities in Bengaluru. The second and third parties visited the Isro centers on 26-27 June and 24-25 July 2025, respectively.

During their two -day routes, students visited the leading Islamic facilities such as Isro Telemetry, Monitoring and Command Network (Istrarac) and Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN), where they interacted with senior scientists and obtained information about deep space communication and task operations.

On the second day, the students were taken to the UR RAO Satellite Center (URSC), where they learned about satellite integration and tests. The visit ended with a screening in Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, where students watched an immersive film in Gaganyaan mission and offered a look at India’s Human Space Flight program.

The Ne-SPARKS initiative continues to close the distance between remote regions and India’s national scientific institutions, developing new generation of space scientists and technology experts from the North East.
