Jacob Ramsey: Newcastle agree £40m deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder

Newcastle is close to signing Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey with an agreement worth 40 million pounds.

BBC Sport said in a statement on Wednesday that clubs have made forward negotiations about the proposed agreement for the 24 -year -old.

In principle, an agreement has been reached and the thinner details remained.

Once after it is signed, Ramsey will complete its formalities, including a medical of moving to St James’ Park.

The Villa hosts Newcastle in the opening Premier League match at 12:30 BST on Saturday.
