Jake Weatherald, Brendan Doggett to debut for Australia
Perth: Jake Weatherald and Brendan Doggett will make their debuts for Australia in the first Ashes Test in Perth.
Australian players were briefed on the team ahead of Thursday’s final training session, according to two sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Weatherald’s selection means Marnus Labuschagne will slot in at No. 3 on his return to the Test team, while Cameron Green is expected to surpass Beau Webster as an all-rounder.
Steve Smith is expected to confirm the XI later on Thursday.
Expected Australian team: Jake Weatherald, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith (captain), Travis Head, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland, Brendan Doggett.
