It was a game full of turnovers for both teams, but Hurts had four turnovers while forcing a total of five turnovers; One of them was a game-winning move in overtime.
Down three points on first-and-10 from the Chargers’ 17-yard line, Hurts sold a play to Saquon Barkley and rolled to his right. He wanted to hit Jahan Dotson near the goal line, but Cam Hart, who had intervened early in the game, brought the ball up the middle and made a tremendous pass.
Safety Tony Jefferson was rushing to cover Dotson and quickly found the football in the air, secured it and stayed in bounds as SoFi Stadium exploded.
EAGLES STAR TURN THE BALL TWICE IN ONE CHAOTIC GAME AGAINST THE CHARGERS
It was a play that helped the Chargers to victory at home, but it didn’t come easy as the Eagles’ defense kept their team in the game with forced turnovers.
Justin Herbert, seven days after having his left hand surgically repaired, was also intercepted and saw a strip sack go the Eagles’ way on back-to-back drives near the end of the first half.
But while Herbert struggled in the passing game (12-of-26 for 139 yards and a touchdown pass to Omarion Hampton on first down), he was able to do the job with his legs.

Herbert rushed 10 times for 66 yards to lead his team in the ground game; This included a 26-yarder on the final drive in regulation to give Cameron Dicker a chance to nail his fourth of five field goal attempts to force overtime.
He did the same when the Chargers first got the ball in overtime; Dicker buried a 54-yard attempt on a perfect 5-for-5 to take a 22-19 lead.
Philadelphia would get a big break in the overtime race after Odafe Oweh was called for a neutral zone violation on fourth down, allowing new downs on what could have been a game-ending game.
However, the Chargers’ defense came through all night long when they needed another turnover, and it was only right that they finally sealed the deal.
The Chargers’ leading receiver was Kimani Vidal, who caught a short pass for 60 yards on Los Angeles’ opening drive and set up Hampton’s touchdown catch in his return from breaking his left ankle in Week 5.

The Eagles were able to sack Herbert seven times, with Jalyx Hunt leading the way with 2.5 sacks on the night. Offensively, Hurts connected well with AJ Brown, securing six of his 13 targets for 100 yards. Dallas Goedert added 78 yards on eight catches, while DeVonta Smith had four catches for 37 yards.
Saquon Barkley, who the Eagles and their fan base hope to break out like in 2024, was able to fly 52 yards to the end zone for a touchdown pass that made the score 16-13 Eagles at the beginning of the fourth quarter. He rushed for 122 yards on 20 touches out of the backfield.
Hurts finished the game 21-of-40 for 240 yards, no touchdowns — one by Brown was called back early in the game due to a Jordan Mailata holding penalty — and four interceptions.
Hurts also fumbled on the play where he was intercepted on a first down by a Chargers linebacker, but the ball fumbled from his hands and was recovered by Los Angeles.
