Rep. James Carville, D-Minn., senior Democratic strategist. He condemned Ilhan Omar for attacking White men on Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.”
Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith asked James Carville It’s about a recently resurfaced clip from May 2025 in which the strategist challenges Omar to leave the Democratic Party and start her own party. Smith asked him to explain what caused this expression of deep disappointment.
Carville said Omar had admirable qualities and was loved by many, “but she started attacking white men, and I’m going to say, ‘Wait a minute, let’s stop. OK.’ 72% of those who voted in 2024 were white. OK? It’s just a fact. “Of those, 72, probably 48 or 48.5 percent, were men.”
He then concluded from his calculation: “About 33% of the people who will vote will be white males. Well, attacking 33% of the voters is stupid!”

“Well, I would say to Congresswoman Omar: ‘Why don’t you be the Democratic Socialist of America?'” Carville continued. Do what AOC did and if they win, the truth is, I share a lot of ideological issues with Congresswoman Omar, but maybe you should act like a parliamentary government. “We will allow you to enter the ruling coalition, but we will not allow you to enter the electoral coalition.”
“But we can’t; we have to eliminate the mentality that we can win national elections [without] White men, because you can’t,” Carville said. “We can somehow win the election without white men. This is just crazy. Literally mathematical madness, cultural madness.
Smith, himself a frequent political commentator, asked Carville how he would respond to critics who say President Donald Trump is the one with a large following of white men.
Carville harshly criticized such critics, arguing that being a white male does not mean one should be viewed as part of a monolith.

“Am I different from other people because I’m a white male?” Carville asked. He went on to say that one of the greatest failings in modern discourse is that even non-White groups are collectively referred to as “people of color,” as if even at the scale of multiple racial groups they could all be collectively viewed as a monolithic entity.
Carville said, “Not all Whites are the same. Not all Blacks are the same. Not all Hispanics are the same, okay?” replied Carville. “And I don’t like making generalizations about someone’s gender, race, sexual orientation, or anything else. Not all gay people are the same. They’re very different personalities. Very different values, very different everything.”

He then concluded, “And I know people are trying to be inclusive in their language when they say that, but I don’t think they stop and think about what they’re saying to someone.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Rep. Ilhan Omar but did not immediately receive a response.
