Jamie Kennedy is over.
The “Scream” actor criticized Hollywood stars who spoke out against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from the safety of red carpets and film festivals.
“People are protesting ICE, okay? And I understand that the situation…it’s a crazy situation,” the 55-year-old said on Jack Osbourne’s podcast.Trying Not to Die“
“But when there are actors on the red carpet of an awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton… and they’re there saying things like, ‘We’re under a fascist regime. We’re authoritarian.’ [regime].’ Brother, my friend, you are literally protected by the best [bodyguards]. Like, this is crazy.”

He joked that some stars have “MMA Secret Service agents” protecting them, adding that people shouldn’t say “you’re under authoritarian rule when you literally are authoritarian.”
He said he saw stars of Brentwood, an affluent neighborhood in Los Angeles, speaking out against ICE at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
“They’re like, ‘Oh, this and this and this and this,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re at Sundance!’ I say. Do you know? ‘If you cared you wouldn’t be at Sundance. Get to the front lines!'”

Co-host Ryan Drexler said it’s the same kind of people who want to defund the police “until someone snatches them, breaks the window and throws them out the window.”
Kennedy reiterated that the ICE situation is “crazy,” but “in theory, they’re basically just trying to get rid of criminals. Is it a perfect system? No. But I’m not there. But basically, let’s follow the laws we have, right? Get rid of criminals.”
The problem with some people protesting ICE, he thought, was that they weren’t worldly enough to know that many other places in the world were much worse.

“I’m just saying, it’s like people don’t have a taste of the whole world enough to understand how good we have it in this country,” he added.

Protests against ICE escalated last month following protests in Minnesota in which two Americans, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were killed.
While Osbourne emphasized that she was always on the side of the law, she also added: “They shoot that man, no… that was bad.”

Drexler said he thought the problem was that agents were not trained enough for the situations they faced, while Kennedy agreed, “It’s terrible.”
“No American should die,” Kennedy added. “Nobody should have been shot”

But he said his basic feelings about ICE are “simple.”
“Do you believe that millions of people are entering this country illegally?” asked Osbourne rhetorically. “Okay. Do you believe that there are a lot of criminals involved in this? Do you believe that what ICE is doing is deporting a lot of bad criminals? Do you believe that this isn’t getting any press attention? OK, so do you believe that if you just let people do their jobs, two more people probably won’t die?”
Osbourne answered “yes” to all of Kennedy’s questions.
