Janet Street Porter, 79, reveals she’s married for the FIFTH time live on Loose Women

Janet Street Porter shocked Loose Women viewers by announcing she was getting married for the FIFTH time on Monday’s episode of the show.
The 79-year-old media star, who admitted she was ‘saving the best for last’, was all smiles as she shared the happy news via video link with husband Peter Spanton.
Janet, who got married at the weekend, said: ‘Hello everyone, I’ve been keeping a big secret, this is my big news to everyone watching…
‘Peter and I got married on Saturday.
‘So here you are. I finally made it. ‘I saved the best for last.’
Janet and the British businessman have been in a romantic relationship since 1999.

The media personality’s Loose Women co-stars Brenda Edwards, Kaye Adams, Sue Cleaver and Nadia Sawalha were quick to offer their congratulations.
Kaye couldn’t help but point out: ‘Husband number five.’
Brenda then joked: ‘Stop counting the numbers!’
Giving more serious messages of support after the ceremony in Great Yarmouth, Brenda became emotional and simply said ‘congratulations’.
Kaye added: ‘She looks content, radiant and happy.’
Janet’s first marriage was to Tim Street-Porter in 1967, but the couple separated in 1975.
She later married British broadcaster Tony Elliot in 1975 – but in 1977 the couple divorced.
Her third marriage occurred later that decade, in 1979, to Canadian documentary filmmaker Frank Cvitanovich, but this union was also relatively short-lived and the pair divorced in 1981.

Janet said before Guard She’s been in so many serious relationships over the years that she understands very well how men’s minds work.
She said: ‘I have been married four times and lived with many men; I know how men’s minds work.
‘What do all the men I’ve been with have in common? They are all pathetically grateful.’
Janet has no children and has previously written in a column that she is not a mother. Independent.
‘There is no stigma in not having children,’ she said, and said she ‘doesn’t miss’ motherhood.
Janet wrote: ‘Men are much more demanding; especially creative, imaginative men who live inside their own heads. I definitely enjoyed the dramas and pleasures of their friendship.

Explaining her reasons, Janet, who was 19 when she first got married, said she felt ‘too young to commit’ even though she remarried in the same year.
Meanwhile, Janet’s second marriage to Tony Elliot lasted just two years but she said the pair knew it was a mistake from the start.
She told the Loose Women panellists: ‘I went back to him and within 24 hours I said, ‘This was a mistake.’ [of marrying] and he said “I agree”.
‘I said, ‘We were such good friends, the same age, why did we get married?’
