Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir threatens India again: ‘Our response will be…’

According to Pakistan Geo News, Munir described the establishment of the newly established Defense Forces Headquarters (DFH) as “historic” in his speech. He highlighted “growing and changing threats” and said that it was the need of the hour to intergrate all three military services.

In his first speech after being appointed as Pakistan’s first tri-services chief or Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), Asim Munir once again threatened neighboring India. He said his country’s response in the event of any future attack would be “more rapid, violent and intense”. Addressing the military officials after receiving the guard of honour, Munir reportedly said: “India should not have any misconceptions because Pakistan’s reaction (in case of any attack) will be much faster and more intense.” His comments came months after India and Pakistan engaged in a days-long military conflict in May this year.
According to Pakistan Geo News, Munir described the establishment of the newly established Defense Forces Headquarters (DFH) as “historic” in his speech. He highlighted “growing and changing threats” and said that it was the need of the hour to intergrate all three military services — the army, navy, and air force — under the aegis of the DFH. “The Defense Forces Headquarters will integrate the operations of the (three) services and harmonize them,” Munir said.
Münir also said in his speech: “Wars have now expanded to cyberspace, electromagnetic spectrum, outer space, information operations, artificial intelligence, quantum computing; the armed forces will have to adapt to the new requirements of war.” Senior officers, including Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, attended the event. Münir serves as CDF during his ongoing term as Chief of General Staff. Following the May conflict, he was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal, becoming only the second person in Pakistan to hold this rank.
