Democratic congressional candidate Jack Schlossberg, grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, admitted in an interview Thursday that President Donald Trump has “flipped the script” on Democrats when it comes to reaching young voters.

“I don’t really agree with President Trump,” Schlossberg said he told Fortune but acknowledged that the president had “inflamed” people about politics.

Schlossberg is running for Congress in New York’s 12th Congressional District to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler.

Kennedy heir says Trump is “kidnapping” young men from the Democratic Party.

“I think these young men are not stupid, and I have a lot of confidence in President Trump for being able to influence new venues and make politics accessible,” he told Fortune magazine.

Schlossberg also shared that he went to Wilmington to help the Biden campaign through social media and was told “no” multiple times.

“Anyway, long story short, I quit the campaign because I thought I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t do it my way,” he said. “A month later, I got a call from the campaign: ‘Hey, can you come back and make a video for us?'”

According to the magazine, Schlossberg admitted at Fortune’s CEO Initiative dinner that the GOP has embraced “modernity.”

“The Republican Party has embraced modernity in the same way that the Democratic Party has,” he said. “Whether it’s space, the race for artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, investment in new technologies; the Democratic Party has been anti-everything, especially anti-business. Anti-modern. Trump has flipped the script.”

JFK’s grandson, known for his sometimes bizarre social media use, argued that Vice President J.D. Vance targeted his wife, Usha, in a recent post in which she put her face on one of Vance’s children.

“I think what crosses the line is the propaganda that is being put out every day by the White House and Vance,” Schlossberg said in an interview with CBS in early March. “So what do we do, hold back? Do we get our sense of humor back and make fun of them instead of pissing them off?”

He added: “First of all, I don’t think anyone seriously thinks I actually mean we have a love child! You can point to anything I post. I’ll direct you to a president who posted pictures of himself bombarding US citizens with feces. This is a new era we’re living in.”
