Jihadism And Anti-Semitism Have Failed: Trump Tells Israeli Lawmakers

JERUSALEM: US President Donald Trump told the Israeli parliament on Monday that the forces of “jihadism and antisemitism” had failed, as he celebrated a ceasefire he brokered in Gaza.

“Together we have shown that peace is not a hope we can only dream of, but a reality we can build day by day, person to person, nation to nation,” he said.

“It should now be clear to everyone in the region that decades of fueling terrorism, extremism, jihadism and antisemitism have not worked. They have not worked. They have been a disaster.”

Addressing the Israeli parliament on Monday, the US president hailed the recently declared ceasefire in Gaza and said the Palestinian people should choose to move away from “terror and violence”.

“And the Palestinians’ choice could not be clearer,” he said. “This is their chance to turn from the path of terror and violence once and for all.”
