Greyhound ‘regulator’ tries to keep scrutiny of abuse to a minimum

The body tasked with regulating the NSW greyhound racing industry has reduced public transparency by removing dogs killed by the industry from its much-vaunted dog tracking database.
NSW Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC) boasts “The world’s first digital portal ‘eTrac’ allows the commission to track and record every greyhound registered in New South Wales, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, more robust and efficient racing operations and greater confidence in the sport.”
