Joey Jones: Ex-Wales, Liverpool and Wrexham defender dies aged 70

Former Wales, Liverpool and Wrexham defender Joey Jones died at the age of 70.
With Liverpool, Chelsea and Huddersfield town, he had three spells with Wrexham.
The shining with Liverpool has spent a three -year time – the first episode title, two European cups, a UEFA cup and a European Super Cup.
Jones lifted the Wales Cup with Wrexham in his first magic and helped Chelsea the second episode in 1983-84.
Together with Mark Hughes, the most covered male players list for Wales is common.
Born in Llandudno, Wrexham’s record on the first return to the club in 1978, and Olie Palmer broke the record until it moved to Stock Cae RAS in 2022.
In 1992, Jones retired at the age of 37.
A Wrexham statement read: “Wrexham Afc, the early hours of this morning after the fight against the disease was ruined to learn the passing of the legend of the club Joey Jones.”
The championship club announced his plans to commemorate Jones by assigning a statue to be placed in the public plaza outside the Cae Ras’s Kop stand.
X, his older friend and old Wales, Wrexham and Chelsea teammate Mickey Thomas’e pay tribute to the X wrote to the X: “This morning I lost my best friend and soul mate Sir Joey, our memories will never fade.
“Today my heart is broken.
John Aldridge said: “More sad news Joey Jones passed away last night.
“With a red shirt, your heart and soul and what a beautiful man for all the clubs he plays and a full back of an inspiring!
“Our thoughts with Joey’s family! I’m a lucky man for meeting him many times. YNWA [You’ll Never Walk Alone] RIP Top Man. “
Wales Football Association CEO CEO Noel Mooney said: “Everyone in Welsh football was upset that they heard Joey Jones’ passing – @wrexham_afc @cymru legend. He was loved by many people. CWSG Mewn Hedd (rest in peace) Joey.”
