Trump says he’s considering attending NBA Finals game
President Donald Trump said at a Cabinet meeting Wednesday that he believes he will attend an NBA Finals game next week as the New York Knicks make their first appearance in the Finals in nearly 30 years.

Jeremy Lin had a few months of the 2012 NBA season under his belt and gave New York Knicks fans a feeling they hadn’t had in a long time: hope.
Even though Lin, Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire never won a championship or advanced to the NBA Finals, it was a pivotal moment for the team that had been out of the limelight since 1999 to regain relevance. This year’s iteration of the Knicks is doing the same.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and others led New York to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1998-99 season, hoping to win its first championship since 1973.
Towns, who grew up in New Jersey, said on Friday that Lin was the person who made him a Knicks fan. “Linsanity” was in high school when he took over basketball.

“I really want to thank Jeremy Lin because he really made me a Knicks fan and hosted me at Modell’s,” Towns said. New York Post. “It was crazy trying to find his jersey. I have so much love for Jeremy Lin, he’s one of my favorite Knicks of all time, one of my favorite players of all time.”
“It made me so passionate about the Knicks. Now it’s crazy to be in this position, in this chair, talking to you as a Knicks player. (They) showed me Jeremy Lin on social media the other day.” [media]”It was crazy that he even mentioned me because my love for him and what he has done for me and my Knicks fandom is unmatched.”
Towns added that his parents helped him gravitate towards the Knicks fandom rather than the Brooklyn Nets.
