Clinton resident dies after being rescued from Lafayette Green apartment fire on Monday, chief says

CLINTON – Local fire chief confirms A resident was pulled from a burning Lafayette Green apartment in Clinton on Monday. died.

The victim was transported from the scene by emergency room to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Clinton Fire Chief Brian Manware said.

Manware had no further updates as of Tuesday other than the fatal fire remains under investigation.

Manware said crews were dispatched to the fire around 10:25 a.m. and were able to arrive on scene in about three minutes. He said crews found a fire on the second floor of the building and ran a hose line to a unit.

The victim was found in the hallway of the building and extricated by firefighters, Manware said. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Manware said.

No other injuries were reported in the fire, but some residents were displaced and assisted by the Red Cross, according to Manware.
