The USA and Israel hit many important areas in Iran on February 28. Iran responded by attacking targets in the Middle East, bringing the region into conflict.

It appears that none of the missiles targeting Diego Garcia hit the base.

While one of the missiles failed in flight, a US warship launched an interceptor at the other, WSJ reported. It could not be confirmed whether the intervention took place, according to an official.

The WSJ reported that this action marked Iran’s first operational use of medium-range ballistic missiles.

British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer this week authorized the United States to strike Iranian missile sites targeting the Strait of Hormuz from British bases.

British ministers approved a decision on Friday (March 20) that had previously restricted the US from using bases only to strike missile sites targeting British interests in the Middle East.
