Jonno Duniam: Childcare bill still needs ‘interrogation’ despite fast-track

In an early demonstration of two -party honor, a worker child care invoice is expected to pass relatively easily through the parliament, but the big problems in the new law have not been ironed by the federal opposition, who is concerned about the children who could be left behind.
On Wednesday, the new legislation by Federal Education Minister Jason Clare in the parliament was proposed after shocking news from Victoria, who was accused of a man for 70 separate child abuse.
Between 2017 and May 2025, 26 -year -old Joshua Brown worked at 20 Children’s Care centers.
Mr Clare, who appealed to parliament, said that the “mothers and fathers of thousands of children olmu had a tremendous stress and trauma surrounding the welfare of their children.
“Governments from different colors of the state and federal have taken action, but not enough and not fast enough. This is the truth,” he said.
“We must do everything we can to ensure the safety of our children when passing or moved through the gates of an early childhood education and care service in centers throughout the country.”
Opposition training spokesman Jonno Duniam said the opposition would not “delay any passage of any way”.
“We will take these things through Parliament for these two weeks, but now we need to focus on the state and land governments and what they are doing to protect children in health services, Rad

“We have a party chamber and other regulations to take into account these newly introduced laws, but I hope they will be forced and forced shortly after that.”
Despite optimism, Mr. Duniam said the opposition had questions about certain elements of the laws proposed for the government.
One problem revolves around the “Children’s Care Deserts ında in some parts of the country, which has a significant children’s care options than the urban centers of our country, in regional and distant Australia.
A feature of the bill allows the government to withdraw subsidies for centers that perform child protection tasks weakly, but families without any other options may carry the burden of the sentence.
“A question I put in the government ‘is good, what happens if the financing is withdrawn?’ Either a center is closed and there is no service, or in some cases, when the financing is withdrawn under these arrangements, (center) can then send an invoice to parents for 100 percent of the cost, and this is unacceptable. Dun Duniam said.

“Something rest for this inquiry.”
When asked whether the compulsory CCTV would be discussed, Mr. Duniam said that it was not already implemented.
“Centers, but frankly in the entire judicial zone is not compulsory.
“There are concerns of confidentiality. We know that CCTV is used by the perpetrators of these terrible actions, so we should make sure that there are appropriate guarantees, even though there is a security measure.”
