Journalist assaulted for protesting alcohol consumption inside anganwadi centre in Indore

An official, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, was attacked after a journalist allegedly objected to a few people allegedly drinking alcohol in an Anganwadi center in Indore.

Sagar Chump, a local correspondent of a daily national English, claimed that Miscreants was trying to cut it with a knife.

Official, Mr. Chump, said that when he returned home after work on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, he found alcohol consuming alcohol in an Anganwadi center near his place.

The journalist stopped the liquor drinking in the facility, designed for young children, pregnant and nursing mothers, but they started to abuse him and asked him for money for alcohol.

When Mr. Choukse protested, the authority claimed that the group beat him and that one of his members was trying to attack him with a “big knife”.

People from the neighborhood who heard the turmoil ran to the scene. The authority said the wrong creatures fled the scene after threatening to kill Mr. Chump.

RD Kanwa, responsible for Pardesipura Police Station, said that a case was recorded for allegedly attacked journalists under a few people under Sanhita, Shubham Chump, Kunal Pawar and Bharatia Nyaya.

Meanwhile, many journalists from the city reached the police station to organize a protest and demand a strict action against the alleged attackers.
