Abusive insults were hurled at the Olympic curling match between Canada and Sweden on Friday following allegations of cheating.
Canada beat Sweden 8-6, with Canadian third Marc Kennedy and Swede Oskar Eriksson stepping in after Eriksson accused Kennedy of an illegal procedure called double-tapping the pieces after releasing them at the hog line.
Kennedy shouted at Eriksson, “I’ve never done that once. You can go away.”

Eriksson replied: “I’ll show you a video after the match. I’ll show you a video with two meters above the hog line.”
Both parties appealed to the authorities, but the result remained unchanged.
“At this point, the Swedish Olympic Committee will not be launching an investigation into the events during Friday’s match,” Swedish team leader Fredrik Lindberg said in a statement, according to The National Review.

Kennedy responded to the allegations after the match.
“I have great respect for Oskar Eriksson,” he said. “He’s one of the best players to ever play. I just told him… I’ll never accuse you of cheating. I’ve been on the tour 25 years. He pulled a hog-line man on us to make sure we didn’t double-touch. The hog-line man was there for six hands, didn’t say anything, and he’s still talking about it in the ninth end.”

“I don’t like being accused of cheating, so I told him what I thought about it.”
According to World Curling policy, a stone moving beyond the pig line cannot be touched, but it is not an infringement for the bowler to double touch the stone in front of the line.
