KLIS Report To Be Tabled in Assembly Today

Haydarabad: The Congress Government will prepare the grounds of the Justice PC Ghose Investigation Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project in the Assembly on Sunday, between the BRS and the Parliament and the most intense wars. The report concerns former Prime Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the La 1.1 Lakh Crore project, especially in the construction of Medigadda, Annararam and Sundilla Dams.
The report, which was presented on July 31 after a 15 -month investigation, emphasizes the “noticeable irregularities” in the planning, design and construction of the project, pointing to the scaffolding in the Medigadda dam in 2023 and the cracks in other structures. The Commission said that the project was built on weak foundations and that water storage was carried out beyond safe capacity and ignored expert warnings.
Justice Ghose’s investigation, Chandrashekar Rao, accused both “directly and attorney” to skip cabinet procedures and ignore expert advice. This points to a major blow to the BRS government, which once initiated Kaleshwaram as a flagship project. The Commission also found that the warning against the Medigadda Dam was ignored in 2015 and that the decisions regarding the project were unilaterally made.
While preparing for the discussion of the Assembly, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Redy gave information to the Congress MLAs about the findings of the report during a presentation in Jalasoudha on Saturday. This effort aimed to effectively resist the members of the Congress to the opposition parties, BRS and BJP in the coming discussions.
The findings of the report triggered legal wars. Chandrashekar Rao and T. Harish Rao approached the Supreme Court, claiming that the report was politically motivated and that natural justice was rejected. The court decided that the report should be discussed in the Parliament before considering further legal proceedings. Harish Rao made another attempt to stop the report on Saturday, but the court refrained from ordering any accommodation to rest on Monday.
The Congress government positions the Kaleshwaram project as an economic disaster. The speaker rejected the BRS request to make a presentation in the Assembly and promised a precedent that Chandrashekar Rao rejected a similar request from the Congress in 2015. Chandrashekar said he could jump Rao’s session, leaving Harish Rao and Party President Kt Rama Rao to manage his defense of BRS.
In an informal conversation with the media people in the parliamentary buildings on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka questioned the stance of BRS, pointed out the inconsistencies in their arguments, and then claimed that the BRS government had rejected the presentation of similar power point to the congress in the past.
R&B Minister Komatirereddy Venkat Redy, Mediapersons, said ChandraShekar Rao should appear personally in parliament to provide a statement. He also drew attention to the fact that the former Prime Minister boasted the success of the project during his term of office, but now he does not want to take responsibility for the failures emphasized in the report. Redy stressed that if the ChandraShekar Rao cannot defend the project, it will be seen as an acceptance of guilt.
