Fans of the Royal Family will rejoice as the second royal wedding of 2026 takes place today. Lady Marina Windsor, granddaughter of the Duke of Kent, will marry Nico Macauley in a private ceremony at a Berkshire estate.

Lady Marina announced the exciting news last June on her Instagram account with a photo of herself with her fiancée and a gallery of shared photos with a simple caption: “I’m so happy.” The couple announced their engagement on June 8, a date that holds special significance as it is the wedding anniversary of her grandparents, the Duke and the late Duchess of Kent.

Not much is known about Lady Marina as she doesn’t regularly attend Royal Family events, but what do we know ahead of her special day today?

Lady Marina, 33, is the eldest daughter of the Earl and Countess of St Andrews; Younger sister of Edward Windsor and older sister of Lord Downpatrick and Lady Amelia Windsor. She is the granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and the late Katharine, Duchess of Kent.

She was born at Rosie Hospital in Cambridge on 30 September 1992 and was given the full name Lady Marina Charlotte Alexandra Katharine Helen Windsor.

When she was 13, she began studying at St Mary’s School in Ascot, then studied French and Portuguese at the University of Edinburgh.

Until 2008, Lady Marina was 25th in line to the throne, but lost this place to be accepted into the Roman Catholic Church along with her elder brother. Their younger sister, Lady Amelia, has not converted and remains on the side of the throne.

When she announced the happy news, many members of the Royal Family commented on the post. “Here the hazing begins,” Marina’s brother Lord Downpatrick wrote, while her sister Lady Amelia Windsor commented: “Yippeeee!”

Meanwhile, Princess Alexandra’s two grandchildren also sent their support. Zenouska Mowatt wrote: “I love you baby” and Flora Vesterberg added: “I love you! Happiest news xx”
