President Donald Trump said Thursday that his administration will turn its attention to Cuba after U.S. military operations in Iran are over.

“What’s happening in Cuba is incredible,” Trump said while attending the visit of 2025 Major League Soccer champion Inter Miami CF at the White House.

“We think we want to fix this first, but it’s just going to be a matter of time before you and so many incredible people come back to Cuba, hopefully not,” Trump said.

The comments suggest Trump is considering another major foreign policy move with less than a week until an escalating military conflict in the Middle East.

“We want you back and we don’t want to lose you. We don’t want to make it so nice for them to stay. But some people probably want to stay. They love Cuba so much,” he said. “This was something that should not have happened.”

After giving a boastful update on the war in Iran, Trump turned his remarks to Cuba, where he said the U.S. and Israeli militaries were continuing to “totally destroy the enemy.”

Trump said Secretary of State Marco Rubio “did a great job.”

“And you’re doing a great job in a place called Cuba,” Trump added, drawing applause from the room, which also included people of Cuban descent.
