Juvenile Involved In Robbery/Snatching Cases Apprehended In Bengaluru

BENGALUR: Banaswadi police of Bengaluru city caught a law-breaking boy and recovered items from him allegedly involved in robbery/snatching cases across Bengaluru city.

Police arrested the youth on March 23 after receiving a complaint from a couple about her bag being stolen by an unidentified person on a two-wheeler in Kalyan Nagar on March 19. The snatching incident occurred on March 18.

In the couple’s complaint, it was stated that they booked a taxi to reach their home, and an unidentified person came to the scene on a two-wheeler, snatched their bags containing gold ornaments and a mobile phone and ran away. Banaswadi police registered a case and started investigation.

Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed a suspect and during interrogation, the youth reportedly confessed that he was involved in bah purse-snatching in Kalyan Nagar and many other places, including robbery/snatching cases in various parts of Bengaluru city.

Police seized two-wheelers, 25.35 grams of gold jewellery, a watch and other items used in the crime. The total value of seized properties belonging to the youth is around Rs 15 lakh. The child was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

The arrested youth is said to be involved in around 6 cases of robbery and is said to be involved in a case of theft under Banaswadi police station limits and a case of robbery and theft under Hennur police station limits of Bengaluru city.
