Kanye West looks downcast as he heads to court for Tony Saxon trial after Bianca Censori testifies

Kanye West was spotted arriving at a courthouse in Los Angeles this Friday amid the ongoing lawsuit against him by his former employee Tony Saxon.

The day before, West’s wife, Bianca Censori, was seen wearing an unusually conservative skirt and cardigan as she headed to court to testify in the case.

Her subdued outfit was a marked contrast to the skin-tight looks she typically wears, including a see-through dress with no underwear at last year’s Grammys.

Now West himself has been spotted heading to court, and like his wife the day before, he’s dressed head-to-toe in a simple black suit.

The 48-year-old rapper opted for a long raven leather jacket over a matching suit and completed the look with a set of slingback dress shoes. He looked quite upset when he arrived at the court, his eyes occasionally looking down at the ground.

Saxon was hired as the project manager to renovate West’s Malibu mansion in 2021 and is accused of unpaid wages, dangerous working conditions and unfair termination allegations.

The legal dispute stems from an initial arrangement reached in September 2021, when West planned a series of sweeping renovations at the oceanfront Malibu mansion he purchased for more than $57 million.

Saxon said in legal documents filed with the court that it provided multiple services, meeting West’s unique requirements. These included project management, property manager and security.

Saxon said in legal documents that he worked up to 16 hours a day on the renovation and sometimes had to sleep on the floor with his coat on to stay on schedule.

Saxon said in his legal filing that relations between himself and the Runaway rapper went south two months later in November 2021.

The developer told the court he had voiced his opposition to a number of requests made by West to renovate the house.

Saxon said West ordered him to demolish the marble bathrooms and remove all plumbing, windows and electrical equipment.

When West suggested moving the large generators inside the house, Saxon told the court he informed West it would create a major fire hazard.

Saxon said in the lawsuit that West threatened him in response and told him he would be viewed as an “enemy” if he did not fulfill his vision.

Saxon said West told him, ‘If you don’t do what I say, you won’t work for me, I won’t be your friend anymore and you’ll only see me on TV.’

Saxon said in legal documents that he told West he didn’t watch television and was promptly kicked out and told to ‘get the hell out’ of the house.

Saxon claimed in court that West only paid him for one week’s work. He’s suing West for a litany of labor law violations and more than $1 million in unpaid wages and damages.

In the lawsuit, Saxon said his vision for the rapper’s home was to turn it into a “1910s-era bomb shelter.” NBC News.

“We were going to gut all of this and build him a Batcave,” Saxon said, adding that the rapper told him he wanted a place where he could “hide from the Clintons and the Kardashians.”

Although Saxon believed the house was more of an ‘art project,’ he later realized that West actually wanted to live there.

Saxon said the West ‘doesn’t want electricity’.

‘He just wanted the plants. He just wanted candles. He just wanted battery lights. And he wanted everything to be light and dark.’

West denied all charges, requesting that the case be dismissed in a filing in November 2023.

The rapper’s lawyers said he was not responsible for the damages Saxon claimed he suffered and that Saxon was doing things he was not aware of.

A series of 2024 photographs of the house showed disrepair: The floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the ocean had been removed, leaving the side exposed to the elements.

The interior of the house, exposed to salty air, wind and water by the ocean, appeared to be collapsing and the metal railings were rusting.

West’s neighbors in Malibu told TMZ in 2024 that his mansion had been “left to rot” and that they “hadn’t seen anyone around in months.”
