Karnataka govt to launch employability assessment for STEM graduates in Kalaburagi

In order to close the employability gap between graduates in the level 2 and 3, the Karnataka government will initiate a model led by evaluating and developing to evaluate and develop the ready for work among the graduates of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The initiative will begin on 9 and 10 August with a pilot evaluation driving in Kalaburagi.

The pilot program will target 2,500 STEM students in Kalaburagi in the first stage. Based on its success, the model will be adapted and scaled to other regions and will make Karnataka the first state to initiate a local employment evaluation program, specially designed specifically for Stem graduates.

The Minister showed that a recent analysis during Udyog Mela scored 50% of the students scored 50% in capabilities and 63% in communication skills. The pilot initiative aims to systematically and measurable such gaps.

The program is also expected to improve the results of employment for employers by presenting ready -made candidates and ensure educational institutions to make their education better with industrial expectations.
