Karnataka Speaker seeks probe into large number of Aadhaar cards discarded near river

UT Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, has written to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to conduct an investigation into a large number of Aadhaar cards dumped on the banks of the Netravati river at Farangipet under Pudu village on the outskirts of Mangaluru on March 3.
In his letter to the Project Manager, UIDAI, Khanija Bhavan, Bengaluru, who is the MLA of Mangaluru constituency, on March 4, Mr. Khader said that the Pudu gram panchayat chairman and other locals came across the cards on March 3 and collected them. “They informed me later,” he said.
