Kobbie Mainoo: Manchester United midfielder signs new contract until 2031

Manchester United Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has signed a new contract until 2031, ending months of uncertainty over his future.

England international Mainoo, who turns 21 this month, signed an improved five-year deal and completed the paperwork at the club’s Carrington training center on Wednesday.

His previous contract, agreed shortly before he joined the United first team, was due to expire in the summer of 2027, but there was an option to extend it for a further year.

“Manchester United has always been my home; this special club means everything to my family,” he said.

“I have grown up seeing the impact our club has had on our city and I enjoy the responsibility that comes with wearing this jersey.

“I have the privilege of living my dream every day, with the same relentless desire to succeed here as when I attended my first training session at the age of six.

“We can all feel the momentum building within the club. I’m determined to step up and play my part in helping Manchester United challenge for major trophies on a regular basis in the years to come.”
