Katherine Deves preparing legal challenge of teen social media ban

A legal challenge to the teenagers’ social media ban is due as early as next week, with a controversial former political candidate expected to take a key role.
Katherine Deves, the former Liberal Party federal candidate for Warringah who has made anti-trans comments in the past, is working on the legal preparations for the Digital Freedom Project. The group argues that the ban harms “LGBTIQ+ youth” as well as other demographics.
The Digital Freedom Project plans to challenge the law “at the Supreme Court before the end of the month,” and is expected to file it early next week, according to an email sent to supporters earlier this week.
