Kavitha to Rope in Prashant Kishor for Telangana Jagruthi?

Hyderabad: Former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha is in talks with election strategist Prashant Kishor to avail his services in setting up her proposed political party Telangana Jagruthi, sources said on Monday. Kavitha is the president of Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural organisation.
The former MP was said to have met Kishor during his five-day stay in Hyderabad recently.
Sources added that Kavitha discussed the formation of her party and the political space in Telangana for it and other related issues.
BRS chief and former PM Rao’s daughter Kavitha was suspended from the party in September 2025 after she accused her cousins and leaders T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar of “tarnishing” her father’s image over the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project built during the BRS regime.
Since his suspension, the former MLC has been focusing on public issues under the banner of Telangana Jagruti.
He had tendered his resignation from the Legislative Council in September 2025, immediately after his suspension from the BRS.
It was received by Council President Gutha Sukhender Reddy earlier this month.
Accusing both the BRS and the ruling Congress of “corruption and irregularities”, Kavitha had said in December last year that she would one day become the chief minister and conduct an investigation into all the “injustices” committed since Telangana’s formation in 2014.
He also announced that his political platform will be used in the next assembly elections in the state.
Earlier this month, Kavitha lashed out at the party led by her father KCR for alleged corruption in Telangana during the previous BRS regime and also called the BRS Constitution a “joke”.
He also said he was not party to some “unpopular” decisions during the BRS administration.
