Kazakhstan launches unique environmental campaign to unite citizens

Its primary goal is not only to improve the ecological situation, but also to instill among citizens environmentally conscious thinking, patriotism and a culture of caring for nature.
The initiative brought together more than 10.4 million people across Kazakhstan.
According to the press service of the Prime Ministry on August 27, citizens, businesses, educational institutions and government officials are actively participating in clean-up campaigns, tree planting and environmental awareness programs, indicating that environmental protection has become an integral part of public life.
The move is closely linked to the implementation of the 2024 Presidential state of the nation address. In October 2024, the government adopted a resolution approving the Taza Kazakhstan concept for the development of environmental culture for 2024-2029. This strategic document sets out the state’s priorities in promoting ecological values and defines concrete measures to promote sustainable development.
Modern technologies are actively used to increase the effectiveness of environmental policies. Since 2024, citizens have been able to report local ecological problems through the @TazaQazBot telegram bot.
Since the beginning of the year, the platform has received 16,500 requests and more than 15,000 of them have been resolved. Most of the reports were related to waste removal, street cleaning and landscaping. The bot automatically directs complaints to the relevant authorities, providing transparency and responsiveness.
