Peter Phillips’ upcoming royal wedding is set to attract some of the Royal Family’s biggest names, but the spotlight has turned to an unexpected chatter who is reportedly unhappy to be left out of the celebrations.

The King’s nephew will marry NHS nurse Harriet Sperling in what is described as an intimate family ceremony at All Saints Church in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, next weekend.

While much of the focus has been on which royals will attend and which will stay away, reports suggest that the person causing the most concern is not Prince Harry or Meghan Markle, but Harriet’s ex-husband, fitness instructor Antonio “Dino” St John Sperling.

According to reports, Dino is upset because he believes his role in the breakdown of their marriage has been unfairly portrayed, and feels that he has largely been erased from the public narrative surrounding Harriet’s new life.

A source said Daily Mail he was “not very happy” with the way the events were depicted and felt that he was “completely removed from the narrative”.

The former couple have a daughter, 13-year-old Georgina, who is said to have bonded closely with Peter’s daughters from his previous marriage to Autumn Kelly, Savannah and Isla.

Reports suggest that Dino has had little meaningful contact with his daughter in recent years, which sources close to him describe as extremely painful.

Despite personal difficulties, he is understood to wish Harriet and Peter well ahead of their big day.

The wedding is expected to be one of the most high-profile society events of the year; Among those expected to attend are King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are expected to play a major role in the celebrations.

Many senior royals, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are not expected to attend, while Prince Andrew is also unlikely to attend.

Peter, 48, and Harriet, 45, announced their engagement in August 2025 after going public with their relationship the previous year.

Harriet, a children’s nurse working for the NHS, grew up in Gloucestershire and is known for her work supporting child development and neonatal care.

The couple now live together on the Gatcombe Park estate owned by Peter’s mother, Princess Anne.

Unlike previous royal weddings, the ceremony is expected to be relatively low-key and no large carriage processions are planned.

But the event is still expected to attract huge public interest as members of the Royal Family gather in the Cotswolds to celebrate Peter Phillips’ second marriage.

With only a few days left until the ceremony, attention has focused not only on the guest list but also on the family tensions that continue beyond the church doors.
