ISSO 2025 National Toppers Announced at IISc Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Edu Mithra Intellectual Services Pvt. The Indian Space Science Olympiad (ISSO) 2025, a national-level academic initiative organized by Ltd., has concluded successfully with the announcement of national rank holders in three categories at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.
The Final Level program, held between 27-29 December 2025, included a three-day intensive offline workshop and competitive exam. Out of more than 5,000 students who appeared for the preliminary exam across all states, 350 students were shortlisted for the final round.
Participants participated in advanced academic sessions in the field of space science, as well as practical experience through astronomical observations, sky viewing activities and hands-on telescope training aimed at nurturing scientific curiosity and experiential learning.
The award distribution and graduation ceremony was held at JN Tata Auditorium, IISc. Renowned ISRO scientist and “India’s Rocket Woman” Ritu Karidhal Srivastava presented Newton parabolic mirror telescopes to the winners, encouraging young students to take a deeper interest in astronomy and space science.
Distinguished scientists and academics attended the event; these include Umamaheswaran R, Distinguished Scientist and former Director of ISRO Manned Space Flight Centre; BR Gururaj Prasad, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, Bengaluru; and CUSAT Adjunct Lecturer N Shaji.
National Ranking Holders by category:
In Junior Category (Classes 5-7), Amrutanshu Panda from Chhattisgarh bagged 1st Position. In the Senior Category (Classes 8-10), Sharvin Malkhede from Karnataka emerged as the national winner. In the Super Senior Category (Class 11-12), Ryhan Ibn Irshad from Jammu and Kashmir bagged the 1st Position.
ISSO 2025 has concluded as a major academic platform that inspires students across the country to explore the frontiers of space science, astronomy and space technology beyond traditional classroom learning.
