Eugene could see snow next week. Here’s when and how much

Western Oregon, including Eugene, could see snow next week.

The National Weather Service predicts that freezing temperatures and snowfall are possible from February 16 to February 18 from the coast to the foothills of the Cascades, and some of that snow may stick.

The snowfall will not be very heavy and will be limited to the morning hours, and will accelerate over time. The NWS is forecasting less than 10% snow in Eugene on Feb. 16, “likely” snow on Feb. 17, and “occasional” snow on Feb. 18. Falling snow will melt during the day.

How cold will it be in Eugene, Springfield next week?

The NWS predicts Eugene will have a low temperature of 36 degrees on the morning of February 16, 31 degrees on the morning of February 17, and 28 degrees on the morning of February 18.

How much snow can Eugene-Springfield get?

Whatever snow sticks will not be deep. The NWS says there’s a 1% chance that Eugene will see at least 5 inches of snow, but still warns people to drive with caution because even the 0.1 inch of snow expected to fall in Eugene on Feb. 18 is enough to impact travel.

How much snow is expected in Willamette Pass?

The NWS is forecasting more snow in the Cascades, where snowfall is expected every day from February 13 through February 18. The Willamette Pass has a 50% to 60% chance of getting at least a foot of snow next week.

There is a 1% chance that Eugene will see 2 inches or more of snow from 4 a.m. on Feb. 17 to 4 a.m. on Feb. 19.
